Beauty: Strobing - Makeup Trend of 2015

When the well-known Kim Kardashian posted a picture of herself on social media with different shades of cream drawn on over her entire face contouring became the makeup trend of 2014. Contouring isn’t so popular anymore, though. Instead, a new technique called Strobing has stolen the spotlight. Strobing is all about illuminating and enhancing areas where light would naturally hit your face. Strobing will brighten up your face giving you that radiant, fresh glow that you thought you could only find in magazines.

Step One

Begin with a clean, moisturized face. Moisturizing your face is particularly important, because it will give you a smooth surface to apply your makeup.

Step Two

Prime your skin. Priming before applying makeup is also essential. It creates a barrier between your pores and the makeup, so that they don’t become clogged, and it extends the wear of your makeup.

Step Three

Use a foundation (or BB Cream) of your choice, mix with a liquid illuminizer and blend it into your skin. This will give you an instant boost of radiance! For a flawless and seamless finish, use a duo fiber foundation brush.

Step Four

Pick a concealer that is a shade or two lighter than your skin color. Apply it under your eyes, the bridge of your nose, the middle of your forehead, the center of your chin, and your cupids bow. I recommend using a dense buffing brush to buff the concealer into your skin. Using a lighter concealer is almost like a non-surgical face lift! You will instantly look younger, and any redness or dark circles will also be covered.

Step Five

With any type of powder brush apply a highlighting powder right on top of the concealer you used. Depending on how intense you want the highlight to be, you can choose to layer it. Also add this powder on your brow bone and on the inner corners of your eyes.

Step Six

There is no step six! Although Strobing is very simple, it creates the most stunning luminosity. Follow these step-by-step instructions that anyone can do, and you will look like a glowing goddess in no time at all.
